Here it is, the (what I hope is) semi-egearly awated next part of Aliens,
Dimensional Gap. If you like this story (or more so if you hate it)
please e-mail me.
Side note: this is part one of a series of stories staring, Xavier Bowmen.
This is one of the crossovers that will be in the series, there is one that is
in all of the parts, but will be keep secret. Bonus points to the one who
figures it out first.
Placing note: This Arc takes place in the time after "All Good Things..." to a
bit after "Generations" (I hope)
You can e-mail me to get previous parts.

Chapter 3
The Turbolifts doors opened onto the bridge of the _Anne_McCaffrey_.
Xavier entered caring two rifles. The bridge was seriously mangled: the
Ops and the nav controls were both destroyed, tactical was partly damaged,
but still usable.
There was a science station active, hooked up to a large round device.
It too had deep score marks on it. The walls of the bridge were covered
with phaser-blast marks. Parts of the floor had holes though them.
"What caused this?" Worf asked, pointing at one of the holes.
"The Aliens have acid for blood. A particularly nasty defense mechanism.
Earlier, the Structual Intergrity Field was on, so there was minimal damage,
but they shut it off before they came up here. At least, that's what I
assume, there's no other answer that makes sence." He paused for a breath.
"Data, see if you can get anything more though that science station, and
also set up the core to be beamed over to the _Enterprise's_ engineering."
Data nodded his head, and started to do so. Xavier dug through what was
left of the Ops station, and pulled out his cane.
"If these things are intelligent, why can't we try to talk with them?" Lt.
Chang asked.
"They're intelligent all right, they're killing machines. They don't
talk to you, they rip out your spleen."
"How much information were you able to extract from the core?" Data asked.
"What I have is about the first three encounters, referred to as the
'Ripley' encounters, named after the women was a key figure in stopping them.
I also found out that something called the Company, in an effort to get rid
of the source, decided to send the entire planet to a different dimension:
here. This was meant to be a warning system, but the transfer destroyed it.
They also made a side mention of a protecter, which I assume was this thing
as well."
"I have found the rest of the crew." Data said.
"How many are alive?"
"Fifteen, all in engineering."
"There was a mention of something like this in the second encounter,
which happened on the surface, at the destroyed colony. But most of it was
corrupted."
"What did you find out?" Worf asked.
"That the Aliens collected people together, near the power source. They
can be saved if rescuers are quick enough."
"Then we should attempted to rescue them."
"I agree." Chang said.
Xavier nodded his head, and walked over to Data. "Beam the core to the
_Enterprise_ and then we will head to enginering." Data did so and the four
walked into the turbolift.
"Deck 17," Xavier said, there was a lurch and the Turbolift descended.
"I have a question." Data said.
"Shoot." Xavier said.
Data looked at him quizically.
"Nevermind, just ask."
"If the Aliens cut off the power, how can we use the turbolift?"
"When the Aliens attacked the bridge, I cut off the secondary power, and
progammed it the same as the transporter lock."
Data was going to respond but the turbolift stopped, and the inner door
opened, though the outer door remained closed, emitting a loud grinding
noise.
Data ran his tricorder over the door, "The tricorder does not register any
obstructions on the other side of the door."
"Can you open it?" Worf asked.
"I belive so." Data closed his tricorder, and started to pull the doors
open. There was a cracking sound, and the doors opened. Pieces of some kind
of opaque, organic-looking substance fell into the turbolift.
Xavier picked up one of the pieces, and looked at it. "This looks the bile
that the Aliens drool, though is concentrated. Data, run your tricorder
over this. If what I think is right, it will not register it."
Data did so, "You are right, the tricorder does not register it."
"That explains why the security system didn't detect them, which means we
will not be able to use the tricorders to detect them."
"Then we could be walking into a trap," Worf said.
"They don't think that way, they just scream and leap," Xavier said, as he
stepped out of the turbolift. The glow from the flashlight Lt. Chang was
holding showed that the hall was covered with the same substance that the
cave under the ship, on the planet, was covered with. Xavier said as much.
"What cave are you referring to?" Data asked.
"I'll tell you everything during the briefing when we return to the
_Enterprise_." He paused. "I just realized something -- this covering has
the same color and texture as the Alien's skin. Perfect camouflage, we will
have to be on our guards."
"I am always on my guard." Worf said.
Xavier shook his head. "Enginering is this way," he said and set off, the
others following.
In under a minute they entered enginering. It was also covered with the
bile camouflage. There was still the slight thrum of the warp core, its
light showing through the bile.
"Where are they?" Chang asked, swinging the light around. Seconds later it
swung past the enginering control room, reavealing about 30 bodies pasted in
cocoons against the wall.
Half were dead, their chests ripped out. Others were still alive, moaning
when the light hit them. At the feet of each one was an egg like the ones on
the planet, all of them open.
"Oh my god." Chang muttered.
A head rose and looked at them. Xavier recognized it as Sara Porter,
the second in command of the _Anne_McCaffrey_. She summed up the group,
"Xavier," she croaked, "why am I not suprised that you survived."
They walked up to her, "Because I always do. What are the Aliens doing?"
"They are using us to make more of them. We all have their embryos in our
chests. Go self-destruct the ship."
"First thing I tried. They shut down the system."
Porter didn't say anything for a second then said, "Do you hear that?
They're comming. Run, get out before they kill you!"
"There is no honor in running," Worf said.
"Fuck honor," Xavier said, "I prefer to live. Get us out of here."
Data tapped his communicator, but it gave back a squeal. "It appears that
the substance on the walls blocks our subspace carrier wave."
There was a slight rustle behind them. They turned, and saw an Alien. It
stood about 6 feet, its head running back about three feet, its tail
thrashing. From its open mouth, another smaller mouth protruded, bile
dripping from both.
In under a second Xavier unloaded the full charge of one of the Phase
Rifles into the thing, disintegrating it. "Run!" He yelled, and headed back
down the hall they had come through, the others following.
They reached the turbolift. Standing inside was another Alien.
"Computer, close door!" Xavier yelled. The turbolift doors slammed closed
in front of the Alien. A pounding started from inside the turbolift.
"Data, there's a Jeffries tube behind this wall, can you get to it?"
Data didn't respond, he just put his fist through the wall, and started to
remove enough of the covering for them to fit through. There was the blast
of a Phaser dischage. Looking over, Xavier saw that Chang had killed
another Alien with her two Type II Phasers.
"You go, I'll take up the back," she said. Xavier slung off three of the
Phase Rifles and handed them to her. At the same time Data had removed
enough of the wall so they could get through. Worf had gone though, and Data
was following.
Xavier came after, with Lt. Chang on his heels. They started up one of the
ladders at the same time Chang let out another blast, and dropped the Phase
Rifle.
"Data are we clear yet?" He yelled.
"Negative," Data responded after tapping his communicator.
They continued to climb. There came another blast from behind, and the
clatter of the Phase Rifle being dropped.
"Data?"
"Communications are still blocked."
"Then climb faster!"
They sped up there pace. Once again there was a Phaser blast, and the
clatter of it falling. Xavier started to hand another one down to Chang
when she screamed, and was pulled down the tube.
"Data!!"
Data tapped his comunicator and said "Three to beam up." They were
surrounded by the glitter of the transporter beam, as another Alien was
climbing up the ladder to them.
As the Alien was about to reach them, the ladder in the Jefferis tube was
replaced with the transporter room of the _Enterprise_. Xavier stood and
looked at Worf and Data.
"This is *not* good," he said.
